Awkward app listens to your darkest secrets
Got an awkward secret that you’re itching to get off your chest? Well, what better way than to confess your sins on video and post it online for the world to see? Errrr, stay with us.
This is the idea behind Awkward, an iPhone app and social network of sorts that’s reserved for your deepest, darkest secrets. Don’t worry, it’s not just yours, you can also scroll through other people’s cringeworthy confessions and like them as you would a Vine or Instagram post.
Awkward users can adjust the blur of the video to remain anonymous or, if you’re feeling particularly brave, you can record it in HD clarity and announce your secrets to the world. We don’t know why you’d want to do that, but y’know, choice is a fine thing.
Before you do, though, it’s worth bearing in mind that each Awkward video has a unique URL and can be shared via email, Facebook or Twitter. They can also be embedded into any website, enhancing the viral potential of an especially shocking secret.
Each video is limited to just 10 seconds, making the app addictive for prying ears as well as serial confessors. Listen along to one embarrassing sexual encounter and it’s almost too easy to scroll down to the next one – and the next one, and the one after that.
So, got something to confess – or just want to listen in? Download the app to get started, and let you know what you think of it below.
