The internet is massive and overwhelming. Even when we think that we have a handle on the mess of Facebook statuses, tweets, emails, Google searches, Instagram photos and Vines that make up everyday life, take just a couple of steps back and we begin to feel very small.
Last year, for instance, there were 3,028,523,000 internet users (that’s 40.4% of world population), all communicating through a few massive social networks, and many more that aren’t so big.
